Greer postal worker accused of taking gift cards from letters and packages

Postal Service worker Tony T. Maclin, 44, of Greer has been indicted on seven counts of mail theft by an officer or employee.

The indictment does not name the post office where Maclin worked.

He is accused of taking gift cards from letters and packages between last July and December. The theft included gift cards from Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond and American Express.

 Maclin could receive a maximum penalty of a $250,000 fine and five years in prison.
