“OK, what day is it? What day is it Mike? Mike Mikey, you know what day it is?” I know you were expecting “hump day, hump, hump, hump daaaayyyyy.” But besides hump day, it’s my two-year anniversary (Oct. 23) of starting the weight loss journey!
I remember it like it was yesterday. I had looked at all my food all week and planned what I would start my day with, pancakes. lol.
I was nervous and excited, but had the mindset of “success”. I was tired of taking cholesterol medicine, tired of wearing bigger sizes and tired of not looking and feeling my best. I made up my mind that morning I was going to set my goal of 20 pounds and get started. 11 weeks later through all the holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s … my goal was accomplished – off my medication and down 5 sizes!
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I had so many people asking me how? “How did you do this?” I was encouraged to be a coach, so I signed up to be one, learned as I went along and realized sticking to the plan was the key and encouraging others along the way was the icing on the “cake” (no calories, of course, lol). Within 6 weeks I had 25 clients, became an Executive Director, lost 5 more pounds and the rest is history. lol
I still can't help but to laugh out loud when I see this (Hump Day) commercial or hear someone ask the question...” what day is it?” Why? I don't know, other than it puts me in a good mood and usually I am thinking I am half way through the week. But today, I am smiling because I “love” my job as a weight loss/health coach. “Love” seeing people’s lives change because they made the decision to do so. Is it easy? It can be. It’s up to you.
So guess what today is? It only takes “you” to say, “today’s the day”.
Blessings,
Lisa
