The public is invited to an information session on the South Carolina Inland Port project in Greer on Friday, June 28, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the Cannon Centre.

Up-to-date reports on the Inland Port are here.

Representatives from South Carolina Ports Authority, Norfolk Southern, South Carolina Department of Transportation, City of Greer and Greer Commission of Public Works will attend to present and/or answer questions from the public.

The public will learn more about the project’s design, timeline, transportation routing and benefits to the greater Greer Community.

Open house begins at 11:30 a.m., the Ports Authority and Norfolk Southern presentation is noon and questions are available at stakeholder booths.

The Cannon Centre is at 204 Cannon Street.

The South Carolina Inland Port in Greer will extend the reach of the SCPA’s marine facilities more than 200 miles to the interior in the heart of the Southeast region’s fastest-growing area – the I-85 corridor.

Linked to the Port of Charleston by a Norfolk Southern main rail line, the South Carolina Inland Port will improve the efficiency of international freight movements between the port and companies across the Southeast region while spurring additional economic investment in the area.

The project uniquely involves the convergence of four modes of transportation at one site, with the port, rail, truck and the nearby GSP International Airport all handling international commerce for the region’s shippers.
