“There are 2 primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist or accept the responsibility for changing them.”

The month of May is almost gone? Really? it has gone by so fast with Mother's Day, my GHS Reunion and now Memorial Day. It's so easy to forget about our good daily habits. The best thing to do now is, starting today or June 1, it is time to get serious about my weight loss or my health."
I started this past Friday by enjoying the fact that I had taken the day off, but at the same time, I decided it was time to implement exercise into my busy schedule. I joined Greer Athletic Club and jumped right in (laughs) though I would not recommend jumping into a Beastfit class (sort of like a boot camp) as I did (couldn't lift my arms for two days).
But do try several classes until you find the one that fits you. I did. And I found Bodyflow, which is a combination of Yoga and Pilates. It reminded me that it's great to utilize exercise to help get the weight off, but even more importantly to get your body moving.
I decided that I couldn't accept the excuses that I had made over the last 5 years that I didn't have time for exercise and I rationalized that my weight loss was easily maintained thanks to Take Shape for Life.
I, also, didn't want to admit that I had zero energy most days from sitting at a desk 8 hours a day plus one more hour in a car roundtrip to work and home. I was the only person who could change that day-to-day condition.
As hard as it was to give up my day off to think about exercising first thing that morning, it is now the best thing that I could have done for myself.
Saturday, I went again and tried weights and the machines and on Sunday found the class that is going to work for me. I'm excited and determined and I'm happy I made the decision to change my routine.
Mac Anderson states the following in his book “One Choice Can Change Your Life”: “With the stress of everyday life, we sometimes fall into routines without even realizing it. And then we just continue doing the same things we’ve always done and getting the same results we always have. And that’s fine if you’re completely happy with the life you have, but remember, you have the power to break out of your routine and live the life you want.”
By making just one choice, you can change your life. Whatever the change may be – new career, new relationship, going back to school – it’s up to you to choose to go after it.
Or optimal health and/or weight loss. Have you made the decision yet?

• Here’s a new tip of food choice. I love the Pineapple Smoothie and the Mac and Cheese. If you haven't tried it, you will be in for a big surprise.
