German beer, wine and food will be plentiful in downtown Greer at the Oktoberfest.

The Jim Benson Car Show, kids and twilight runs and free flu shots will be available at the family-friendly event at Greer First Baptist Church.
The Oktoberfest will be held in nearly perfect weather Saturday for a day of food, drink and entertainment on two stages. It is the traditional end to Greer’s festival season.
Greer State Bank is Oktoberfest’s title sponsor.
OctoberFast, a companion event at Greer First Baptist Church, features a car show, free flu shots, kids and twilight runs and other family-friendly events. Free flu shots will be given noon-3 p.m.
Sunny with high in the mid-60s is forecast with a fall breeze 10-15 miles per hour for the festival from noon to 10 p.m. Temperatures in the evening are expected to dip to the mid-40s.
Greer Station merchants and restaurants will continue be open throughout the day.
Oktoberfest features German oompah bands on two stages, dancing in the streets, German wine, beer and food. Menu items will be sold for $1 - $5 at stations throughout downtown.
Artisans will present ceramics, photography,oil paintings, woodwork, jewelry and other displays centered on German themes.
Warsteiner, the official beer and Germany's largest privately owned brewery, will be serving Verum, Dunkel, and Premium beers. Craft beers and soda beverages will be available.
Entertainment features the Foothills Oompah Band noon – 4 p.m., Walhalla Oktoberfest Dancers 5:30 – 6 p.m. and The German Connection 6-10 p.m.
Visitors are reminded to bring chairs, blankets and warm attire for when the evening temperatures cool.
