As Americans we appreciate our active duty and veterans who serve the United States in war and peace. The Greer Family Fest is inviting you to share your story about a family member, friend or associate that is active, retired or deceased.

Benton Blount, The Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, Disabled American Veterans and GreerToday.com are partnering on a prize package to reward an individual for sharing their story(s). They will be published in a special link on GreerToday.com.

All entries will have their names included in a drawing and the winner will be announced at Saturday night’s Veterans Salute when Blount performs. Send entries to GreerToday.com and a reply will confirm its receipt and entry into the drawing.

Send entries to [email protected] or [email protected].

Saturday night’s “Walk of Honor” will be Greer’s thank you to all of our favorite sons and daughters and others we remember who served so unselfishly and gallantly to pave the way for the freedoms we enjoy.

Thousands of flags will be distributed for the “Walk of Honor” and the Blue Ridge JROTC will escort the guests to the main stage. Preston Johnson, commander of the DAV Greer Chapter 39, will attend the ceremonies.

Blount is featured on an album “Standing United, Vol. 1” where he joins artists Big & Rich, Tim McGraw, and Nickelback in honoring our troops.

His second album will be released soon. He will sing, “That’s An American” Saturday night during his performance, 5-7 p.m.

Blount will sing the National Anthem a cappella as part of the “Walk of Honor”.

Watch Blount Tuesday at 10 a.m. on Your Carolina on WSPA-TV with Jack Roper and Kimberly Kelly.
