The Disney musical is based on the film “Tarzan of the Apes” with music by Phil Collins.
Benjamin Augusta as Tarzan and Emily Pate as Jane perform with a cast of more than 50.
Augusta, a graduate of Blue Ridge High School has a musical background that includes three state championships as a member of the Corps of Cadets and participant with the BRHS Honors Choir, which also received a state championship.
Pate, a senior at Byrnes High School, is performing in her 12th show with the GCT. She began her musical participation in junior high school and last year performed the role of Eponine in a concert setting of Les Misérables.
Luke Browder is the director and Mark Eshenbaugh is the music director. Music majors from North Greenville University comprise the orchestra.
Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and the finale is Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 adults, $12 students/seniors, and $7 children 5 and under. The Cannon Centre has excellent seating for all guests. Concessions are sold and allowed into the theatre.
