The event is Feb. 4, 6-9 p.m. at Embassy Suites Greenville Golf Resort and Conference Center.
Lowe announced his company’s first store in the upstate to be built across from Riverside High School at the corner of Suber Road and Hammett Bridge Road. The store is scheduled to open in July 2016. Lowe announced the second store to be anchored at Five Forks in Simpsonville.
The upstate has been marketed as a prime growth area for the unique shopping experience never seen or “experienced before.”
Lowes Foods is based in Winston-Salem with its prototype store located in Hickory, N.C.
Lowe’s background includes working as a licensed pharmacist worked for retail stores Circuit City, Best Buy and Walmart. Lowes Foods hired him to relaunch the company.
“We want to create the opportunity where when folks walk in our stores, there’s a sense of pride and community.” Lowe said.
Lowe emphasized a transformation to local products, with the grocery story claiming to carry over 2,500 local products. When Lowe visited Greer local growers introduced their products to him and his representatives.
“Retail-tainment”, as Lowe Foods is often described, auditions its staff for jobs such as a sausage professor for its Sausage Works counter and a host for the rotisseries chicken area that performs the chicken dance when the chickens come out of the oven.
A cocktail reception is 6 p.m. and the dinner and program is 7 p.m.
The cost is $65 for chamber members and $75 for non-members.
