2012 Miss Greater Greer Teen Sydney Sill has had a non-stop schedule since the week she competed in the Greer pageant. Sydney talked with GreerToday.com between her ride from Byrnes to Greer for “Hairspray” rehearsals. She was upbeat, laughing and looking forward to performing in her first theatre production outside of school. Sydney was the second runner-up (Miss Lyman) in the 2011 Miss South Carolina Teen competition. She will compete in the 2012 Miss South Carolina pageant July 10-14 in Columbia.
Q: You played a big role in the Miss Byrnes High School pageant last weekend. What did you do?
Lauren Cabaniss was crowned 2012 Miss Greater Greer and Sydney Sill the Miss Teen tonight at the Margaret Burch Auditorium at Greer High School.
Cabaniss and Sill each swept all three individual competitions. Cabaniss won the swimsuit, talent and evening gown competitions and Sill won the lifestyle/fitness, talent and evening gown.

Leland was in Bullock's barbershop when we caught up with him and chatted about tonight's Miss Greater Greer pageant being held at Greer High School at 7 p.m.
Erin Frost, a contestant for Miss Greater Greer, had a busy and productive afternoon playing basketball for Wofford College. The game began at noon and ended shortly before 2 p.m.
Frost made both field goal attempts – two three pointers – and played 16 minutes.

Erin Frost isn’t one to wait around nervously for the Miss Greater Greer pageant scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Greer High School. The Wofford College junior will be playing a basketball game against Western Carolina University at 2 p.m. in Spartanburg.
Frost has averaged 12 minutes and played in all 24 games.
Five candidates will compete for the 2012 Miss Greater Greer title and six will vie for Miss Greater Greer Teen Saturday night at Greer High School, pageant officials have announced. The pageant begins at 7:30 p.m.
2011 queens Laci Olson, Miss Greater Greer, and Abby Riggs, Miss Greater Greer Teen, will end their tenure Saturday night.
Abby Riggs’ reign as 2011 Miss Greater Teen comes to an end Saturday night. She is practicing her the entertainment she will perform, her wardrobe is all but set, appointments set and she has written her farewell speech.
“I don’t want to give up the crown,” Riggs said. “Yet, I’m ready to get on with my senior year in high school (2012-2013) and take what I learned with me.”
The 2012 Miss Greater Greer pageant officials and candidates met today to formalize this year’s show and rehearse their group number. The 59th Miss Greer winner will be selected next Saturday.
Miss 2011 Greater Greer Laci Olson and Miss Teen Abby Riggs will give up their crowns.
The 6th annual Miss Blue Ridge Relay for Life Pageant, sponsored by the Air Force Junior ROTC unit at Blue Ridge High School, will be held March 3, 6-8 p.m., at the Blue Ridge High School Auditorium.
Last year's pageant, with 18 girls participating, raised $2,050 toward the final school total of more than $4,750. The goal this year is $2,500.
