The 6th annual Miss Blue Ridge Relay for Life Pageant, sponsored by the Air Force Junior ROTC unit at Blue Ridge High School, will be held March 3, 6-8 p.m., at the Blue Ridge High School Auditorium.

Last year's pageant, with 18 girls participating, raised $2,050 toward the final school total of more than $4,750. The goal this year is $2,500.

The theme for this year's pageant is "Courageous Colors of Cancer."

Any Blue Ridge High female student is eligible to enter. They will compete in a casual wear and evening wear segment. Registration forms are available from Sherry Thornton, pageant coordinator.

Cost is $5 per person; children 3 and under are free.  Tickets go on sale the day of the pageant in the front lobby, beginning at 5 p.m.

The Blue Ridge Air Force Junior ROTC cadet corps sponsors this pageant to honor and remember the many family members and friends who have been affected by cancer.

During the all-night Relay for Life Event in Greer, May 18-19,  National Honor Society members and cadets will sell 2012 Relay Shirts in violet, Carolina blue, and pink along with Greeting Spring chocolates, candies and snacks.  All profits go to the American Cancer Society.
