Greer, based on its growth forecast by a commissioned study, should be prepared to accommodate a population of 100,000 by the year 2030.
The Partnership For Tomorrow presented a new 15-year Greer Community Master Plan to an overflow crowd at the Cannon Centre Thursday evening amid a party-like atmosphere.
“There is a sense in this community that we are set to have an explosion of growth,” Brian Martin, an attorney with a downtown office, said in a video presentation.
The Cannon Centre has served as imagination station for the past 18 months. Tonight it transposes into 'Tomorrowland'.
The Partnership For Tomorrow (PFT) will unveil Greer’s 15-year master plan, 2030, at a public showing 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Cannon Centre. It will be served with the community fanfare of a multimedia presentation, stations depicting in detail future segments of the plan with music, food and beverages.
There will be two more apartments for lease in downtown Greer this summer.
Two business offices on the first floor and two upstairs residential apartments – one studio and a one bedroom unit – are being constructed at 100 Trade Street.
