SC INLAND PORT

The South Carolina Port Authority (SPA) board agreed today to move forward with plans for an inland port in Greer at a cost of up to $25 million. SPA already approved $1 million for engineering studies. The money for the port is already in the budget.
Norfolk Southern would spend $7.5 million for the rail infrastructure for the facility, on land the Port Authority owns adjacent to the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in Greer.
