The Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra performs Masterworks Concert II on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at Riverside Baptist Church.
The annual food drive will be held in conjunction with the concert. Patrons are asked to bring canned goods to help Greer Community Ministries to replenish their food pantry in preparation for the Thanksgiving season.

The first three artists in residence at the Greer Center for the Arts have been selected. The new name of the building reflects the city’s change from the previous City Auditorium.
Robin Byouk, director of Greer Cultural Arts, told GreerToday, photographers Rachel Babb and Blaine Owens of Greenville and Amy Bright, a belly dancer and the designer of jewelry, are the first three artists working out of the newly renovated building.

Halloween Hoopla is the second Halloween event this week hosted in downtown Greer. Saturday’s event is at City Park.

The second Food Truck Rollout was held at Greer City Park Thursday with a sparse crowd attending.

The Greer Cultural Arts Council is gearing up for its latest production, a contemporary take on Lewis Carroll's classic “Alice in Wonderland” called “Wonderland High.”
The play, set at a modern high school, will bring to life all of the wild and wonderful characters fans of Alice you know and love as well as a few new ones.
Hollywild Animal Park received its third consecutive clean USDA facility inspection Wednesday, according to Kim Atchley, Hollywild’s executive director.
Hollywild has had two full facility inspections and one focused inspection since February. All three noted, “no non-compliant items identified during this inspection.”
A Travelers Rest brewery won a silver medal in the Bock beer category at the Great American Beer Festival held in Denver earlier this month.
Numbskull, brewed at the Swamp Rabbit Brewery & Taproom, won the silver medal from among 36 entries in the bock category.

“We are reaching out to that group of people, young professionals, to provide a more adult event at City Park and if it can flourish,” City Events Supervisor Ashlyn Stone said.
BMW will reopen the iconic Zentrum museum, located in Greer beside the largest BMW plant in the world, to the public on Monday.
Manfred Erlacher, President and CEO of BMW Manufacturing, and Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO of BMW of North America, celebrated the reopening by unveiling the restored classic BMW 507 once owned by the “King of Rock and Roll”, Elvis Presley. It will be at the museum until spring 2017.

Upstate movie director KT Terry will be shooting a faith-based film called "Unconditional Surrender" throughout the Upstate in 2017. The movie will tackle the PTSD struggle many veterans face upon returning home from combat.
"We lose 22 soldiers a day to suicide due to PTSD and you and I can be part of the solution." stated Terry. "Unconditional Surrender will focus on a soldier's return home to his family, and the battles he struggles with returning to a normal' life."
