Greer's talent is a given, going deep into playoffs remains goal

Adrian McGee (24) is a powerful alternative to Greer's heralded passing tandem of quarterback Mario Cusano and wide receiver Dorian Lindsey.
 

The Greer Yellow Jackets hope 2015 is the year they finally take the next step towards their goal of a 3A state championship.

With a talented host of experienced players returning from last year's 11-1 team, Greer looks primed to make a deep run into the playoffs this fall. Seniors Mario Cusano, quarterback, and Dorian Lindsey, wide receiver, lead the way for the Yellow Jackets. Running back Adrian McGee had a terrific spring game.

Greer State Bank donation benefits Chandler Creek, Greer Middle School

Students enrolled in the Communities In Schools Summer Bridge Program are in the front row.
 

Communities In Schools of Greenville received a $2,500 donation from the Greer State Bank Foundation.

The donation will help students at Chandler Creek Elementary and Greer Middle School to engage in the Greer community, develop real-world academic skills, and to serve others through volunteer projects.

Youth learn police aren't bad people, chief says it's the media

Michael McDowell was among 14 middle school boys standing in the corridor of the Greer Municipal Complex courtroom.

“Look at him,” Brenda Lyle, his proud grandmother said. “He is standing straight, shoulders back and he has learned to sit proper.”

A cartwheel, flip and a split earned a North Greenville University cheerleader a once-in-a-lifetime appearance on a national television show Monday.

Kayla Glenn, visiting New York City with her family, had a much loftier goal than attending the free taping of “Live! with Kelly and Michael”.
