Greer Police Department officers responded to Blue Ridge Brewing at 306 Trade Street, Greer, on Tuesday night, in reference to a disturbance involving a firearm.
Suspect Timothy McCombs, 26, had left the location in a vehicle before officers’ arrived, but was located a short distance away at which point a traffic stop was conducted, according to GPD.

The City of Greer Police Department is renewing its request to the public for help in solving a 20-year-old bank robbery that resulted tn three people being killed – a bank employee and two customers.

The Greer Police Department arrested the younger brother of a Greer teen, and both have been charged with attempted murder, according to Capt. Patrick Fortenberry with the GPD.
Jerry Nathaniel Dodd, 18, of Greer was arrested Wednesday evening on outstanding warrants with the GPD. A day earlier Jeffrey Tykei Dodd, 19, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

James William Ogle, 56, of Wellford has been charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, discharging a weapon within city limits, and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
Greer Police arrested and charged a man with involuntary manslaughter in the death of a Greenville teen Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to a residence at 1:10 a.m. on Werninger Court in the Lismore Park subdivision for a reported shooting, according to Lt. Patrick Fortenberry.
Update: Greer police said the missing teen reported on Wednesday, has been located and is safe.

The Greer Police Department is investigating a shooting Sunday at the McDonald’s Restaurant at 6125 Wade Hampton Blvd., in Taylors.
One patron inside McDonald’s was treated on the scene for a minor injury, according to Fortenberry.
A bizarre chain of events occurred Wednesday, following Greer Police responding to a naked man located under a house in the city, EMS staff attacked and an ambulance receiving significant damage after a wild drive by a suspect ending when he crashed the vehicle into a utility pole.
According to Lt. Patrick Fortenberry of the Greer PD, officers responded at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday to a reported suspicious person acting strangely and banging on the front door of a residence on Tryon Street. The occupant told officers the man had walked around to the rear of the house.
The CPM Federal Credit Union, at 1445 Highway 101 South, was robbed at 11:26 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Greer Police Department.
GPD officers responded to a call at 11:26 a.m. in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Officers reported that a black male subject had passed a note to a teller indicating he was robbing the bank. The teller gave the person an undisclosed amount of money and the thief left on foot. The man got into a dark colored sedan (possibly red/maroon) that was parked in a hotel parking lot next door. The suspect vehicle then left the parking lot heading towards Interstate 85.
The Greer Police Department is holding its annual “Stuff a Cruiser” on Saturday, Aug. 7, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Greer Walmart Supercenter at 14055 E. Wade Hampton Blvd. Children can use school supplies for the coming year.

The Greer Police Department (GPD) is working with the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office after a fetus was found outside the emergency room at Pelham Medical Center early Saturday morning.
Greer Police responded to the Pelham Medical Center at 12:36 a.m. Saturday when a driver of a 4-door silver vehicle with dark tinted windows got out of the vehicle and placed a bag at the entrance to the ER. Hospital staff located the bag and found a deceased fetus inside, Lt. Patrick Fortenberry reported.
The Greer Police Department is investigating a shooting that had two men and a woman with gunshot wounds.
Police responded to a call about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday morning at a residence in the 200 block of Pleasant Drive. When officers arrived, two men and a woman had gunshot wounds. All three were taken to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment for their injuries.
Criminals have found a niche working their craft on Wade Hampton Blvd.Thursday at approximately 5:30 p.m., Check-N-Go at 6140 Wade Hampton Blvd., was the scene of an armed robbery.
It’s the fourth holdup of a business, including two banks, on Wade Hampton Blvd. in 45 days. No arrests have been announced by Greer or Greenville law enforcement.
All four suspects allegedly involved in a January fight, that included a woman being punched in the face, at Tipsy Taco in Greer have been charged by the Greer Police Department.

A bank robbery this afternoon at BB&T on Wade Hampton Blvd., comes exactly one month from after a similar bank robbery just three miles away. Suspects remain on the lam.
Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are probing today’s robbery at BB&T at 3255 Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Greer Police Department detectives believe the crime spree in the city of Greer, including a bank robbery Tuesday and two restaurants on Monday, were committed by the same suspect, according to Lt. Patrick Fortenberry.
Fortenberry said the bank robbery at The Bank of Travelers Rest on Tuesday, and the robberies at Sub Station II and the Waffle House on Monday were committed by the same suspect. No other information was released Wednesday by Fortenberry.
All three crimes gave the same description of the suspect, wearing dark clothing and a blue bandana covering his face. The suspect also left all three crime scenes on foot. Greer Police reportedly arrived within minutes of receiving calls to each business being held up.
A K9 was reportedly used to try to locate the suspect after the Sub Station II holdup, but GPD did not indicate what methods were used to track down the suspect in the other two crimes.
Fortenberry said, "We do continue to ask that if anyone has any additional information to please contact the Greer Police Department at (864) 848-2151."
Bank robbery, 2 restaurants are hit in crime spree
A bank robbery on Tuesday in Travelers Rest, and robberies at Sub Station II and Waffle House on Monday, just 21 minutes apart has kept the Greer Police Department busy.
A multistate investigation involving more than two dozen law enforcement officers led to the seizure of more than 10 pounds of drugs with a street value of over $1 million, according to Bart McEntire, the Commander of the Greenville County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU).
The drugs seized were a combination of fentanyl, tramadol, and other unidentified drug powders.
Saturday (Oct. 24) is Drug Take Back Day to get potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted drugs off the street. The event is 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in front of Greer CPW’s Customer Service Complex, at 301 McCall Street. A drive through will be set up as citizens remain in their vehicles.
"With the cancelation of our April drug take back event due to COVID-19, we know this collection event will be important. We anticipate seeing an increased amount of medicine," said Sergeant Jeff Smith, Community Outreach Officer with the Greer Police Department. The Greer PD and Greer Commission of Public Works are partnering in the event.
