The City of Greer will be able to give a shout out for Lonnie “Gee” McGee at the Christmas Parade.

City of Greer officials confirmed that Gee will be at the parade on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m. The lineup will begin near the Clock restaurant on Poinsett Street.

Gee has been living in Clinton for the past year and the assisted living services will bring Gee to Greer. Sgt. Randle Ballenger said the Greer Police Department will help with Gee and reserve a parking space for the van.

Gee typically leads the Greer High School Marching Band with his trademark high-stepping, arm-waving, whistle blowing cadence.

Last year, there were cheers along the parade route of “Gee, Gee, Gee” when he returned one month after making his new residence in Greer.

The Christmas Parade theme is “A Vintage Christmas” in Greer.

Proceeds benefit Greer Relief.
