Greer police department benefit softball tournament is Saturday

Det. Dale Arterburn's Greer softball team wasn't first last year, but the team recorded the most serious injury.

 

 

The 4th annual Greer Police Department softball tournament is Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Century B Park (Kids Planet) on Brushy Creek Road.

Eleven law enforcement and public safety teams will play in the one-day, double elimination tournament.

Money raised benefits the Upstate SC Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund reserved for families of officers killed in the line of duty in the upstate.

Greer, Simpsonville, Greenville, Greenville County, Greenville County Detention, Fountain Inn, Laurens, Cherokee and Spartanburg County law enforce teams will compete. The Tyger River Fire Department will field a team.

Concessions will sell hotdogs and hamburgers at lunch, tournament T-shirts are for sale $15 and other fundraising events will be held.
