Michelin plans $300 million facility, 350 jobs on Greer's border
Plans for Michelin to invest more than $300 million that will create 350 new jobs across the street from Greer’s border in Spartanburg County Council passed second reading Monday night.

It’s another shot in the arm for greater Greer residents, as the distribution center reportedly will be along Brockman McClimon Road and Highway 417.

A revenue source of $5 million was approved for Michelin. The economic incentives package approved by Spartanburg County Council means the global tire company will reportedly invest at least $266 million into the facility.

A third and final reading will be held in June.

The proposed site for the distribution center is along Highway 101, from the intersection with Brockman Road in the north to the intersection of Highway 417 in the south. Several parcels of land are included in the proposed site.
