Half of the residents in the city of Greer face new trash pickup dates beginning Monday.

Half of the City of Greer’s residents will have a new trash day beginning Monday.

Steve Serafino of Ace Environmental, the city’s residential collection vendor, told City Council Tuesday two new trucks, at a cost of $389,000 each, will also mean same-day collection of trash containers, recyclables and brush.

The trucks run on compressed natural gas and are automated. New routes, said Serafino, will allow the company to plan for continued growth in the city and increase recycling participation.

An extra truck will run the former routes for two weeks during the transition, according to Serafino.

The city is directing calls to Ace Environmental at 864-877-0505  or click here  to check the service days.
