Tunes in the Park and Greer Idol scheduled tonight at Greer City Park’s amphitheater are cancelled.
The city announced: “Weather continues to play havoc with events in the Upstate. Friday's scheduled Tunes in the Park at the Greer City Park Amphitheater is the latest to fall victim as heavy rains and a flash flood watch into the evening have forced the cancellation of the concert and Greer Idol events.
The Out-of-Towners Band is scheduled to perform next Friday, July 12, at Tunes in the Park, 7-10 p.m. Admission is free.
The Greer Idol elimination format remains in place. An extra week is an option to push the final competition back to its conclusion in August. The Cannon Centre may be used as the venue in conjunction with its production of the “Emperor’s New Threads”.
“We will make every attempt to reschedule this event with Jim Quick and the Coastline band in the late summer,” said Robin Byouk, Greer Cultural Arts supervisor and coordinator of Tunes in the Park.
