Greer and Riverside will host spring football scrimmages Friday at 6 p.m.
Greer, last season’s unbeaten Peach Blossom AAA champions, will hold its scrimmage at Dooley Field.

Riverside High School's Atlas Club received the Outstanding Contribution to International Diversity Award at the 12th Annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Dinner.
The event, hosted by the Greenville Chamber and the Riley Institute at Furman, in partnership with Upstate Chambers, recognized organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement in promoting diversity and inclusion in Upstate South Carolina.

The Greater Greer Education Foundation awarded $13,000 in scholarships to 13 students from six high schools in the Greater Greer area Wednesday afternoon at Greer City Hall. Students were selected by the guidance department of each school and submitted to the Foundation. The Foundation in turn will present scholarship funds to the technical school or college on behalf of the student.
Riverside’s third place finish for the girls at the South Carolina High School League’s state track and field championships Saturday was the school’s highest finish since competing.
Riverside accumulated 61 points, just behind champion Wando (76.33) and J.L. Mann (73).

Troy Pride won four state championships, three individuals in the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes and ran a leg on the 4x100 relay team Saturday.
Karen Zhao of Riverside High School has been chosen as a 2016 U.S. Presidential Scholar.
The Presidential Scholars Program recognizes the nation's most distinguished high school seniors.
Christopher Brooks, a sophomore at Riverside High School, competed in the Fluor Engineering Challenge.
He won first place in this competition, besting 1,700 entries from around the world.

The group included Abby Farr (volleyball/Jacksonville (Ala.) State, Luke Fetchko (baseball/Guilford Tech), Maxie Riese (Lacrosse/Erskine), Kenny Rado (soccer/Erskine) and Liz Standridge (softball/Laurel University).
Brittnee Seebo painted the train car that represents Riverside High School’s entry for the downtown project.
Seebo, a senior Art 3 Honors student featured paintings of the downtown Greer area.
Then Riverside Middle School boys baseball team finished with a perfect season to become the Baseball County Champions.
The team is coached by Brad Johnson.
