Riverside High School's Atlas Club received the Outstanding Contribution to International Diversity Award at the 12th Annual Upstate Diversity Leadership Awards Dinner.

The event, hosted by the Greenville Chamber and the Riley Institute at Furman, in partnership with Upstate Chambers, recognized organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement in promoting diversity and inclusion in Upstate South Carolina.

GGEF gives back to community, awards $13,000 in scholarships to 13 students

The Greater Greer Education Foundation awarded $13,000 in scholarships to 13 students from six high schools in the Greater Greer area Wednesday afternoon at Greer City Hall. Students were selected by the guidance department of each school and submitted to the Foundation. The Foundation in turn will present scholarship funds to the technical school or college on behalf of the student.

Police arrest 5 middle schoolers in child porn, sex assault case

Four female eighth graders from Riverside Middle School were charged by Greer Police with possession of child pornography. A 14-year-old male middle-school student was charged by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, second degree.

Riverside girls complete spectacular track season

Cate Ambrose won a pair of individual championships at the South Carolina High School League track and field championships Saturday.

Riverside’s third place finish for the girls at the South Carolina High School League’s state track and field championships Saturday was the school’s highest finish since competing.

Riverside accumulated 61 points, just behind champion Wando (76.33) and J.L. Mann (73).

Two separate parcels were approved by City Council Tuesday night that may see the construction of 136 townhouses on Brushy Creek Road. Council approved multi-family residential annexation that are virtually across each other.
