Charles Lindbergh Sloan, 86, of 130 Bomar Road, died April 12, 2014 at his home.
A native of Spartanburg county, son of the late Furman and Edna Campbell Sloan, he was a retired employee of Detroit Broach, a US Army Veteran and a member of Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Perry Sloan of the home; one son, Gary Sloan of Blue Ridge; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joseph Atencio of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Bonnie Waddell of Greer and Ann Jones of Laurens; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sloan was predeceased by six brothers, Alcuin Sloan, W.T. Sloan, James Sloan, Troy Sloan, Tillman Sloan and Carl ?Doc? Sloan and three sisters, Myrtle Bonner, Montie Stepp and Bernice Sloan.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Drew Hines.
Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held 1:15-3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Baptist Church.
The family is at the home.
