Steven Junior "Cotton" Southern, 84, passed away March 1, 2017 at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.

A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late Andy Lee Southern and Liethia Dill Southern, a self-employed carpenter, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and of the Church of God faith.

Surviving:

Surviving are his wife, Jessie E. Belcher Southern of the home; one son, Steven Gregory Southern of Greer; one brother, William Lawton Southern of Orlando, Florida; two sisters, Verde Mae Ross of Orlando, Florida and Betty Dillard of Greer; three grandchildren, Aaron Southern, Jessica Turner, and Alyssa Southern; and two great-grandchildren, Sebastian Southern and Malachi Turner.

He was also predeceased by daughter, Kathy Delores Turner; three brothers, Robert Lee Southern, Harold James Southern and Cleodis Southern; and four sisters, Mattie Nix, Elizabeth Hart, Carrie Rhodes and Mary Louise Southern.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. Bruce Brown and Rev. Richard Peters.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Darren Armstrong, Travis Campbell, Kim Shelton, Justin Bright, Chris Shelton and Justin Redmon.

Visitation will be held 2:15 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary prior to the service.
