Evelyn Brooks Jones, 88, widow of John Matt Jones, died October 2, 2016.

A native of Anderson County, daughter of the late J. D. and Myrtle Davis Brooks, she was a homemaker and a member of Abner Creek Baptist Church.

She was a lifelong volunteer for Greer Community Ministries and Greer Memorial Hospital.

Surviving:

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Buck and Ann Jones of Greer; a daughter and son-in-law, Larue and John Bettis of West Columbia; three grandchildren, Lori Jones of Taylors, John Bettis III (Laura) of Columbia, and LCDR Steven Bettis (Heather) of Oak Harbor, Washington; and three great-grandchildren, Blake Bettis, Connor Bettis and Emily Kate Bettis.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Frank Jones and John Bettis III.

Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Buck and Ann Jones.
