James Carol Phillips, of Woodruff, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, August 20, 2021.
He was born December 22, 1955 in Woodruff, S.C. to the late Thomas James and Margaret Satterfield Phillips. He was a 1974 Woodruff High School graduate.
While working for Duke Energy for 42 years, he used music as his ministry through the Woodruff Community Choir and serving as Minister of Music at Bellview Baptist Church.
He was also a member of the launch team of Element Church in 2010 which recently transitioned to Church at the Mill ? Woodruff.
Carol was an original member of The Regals, beginning in 1984. The Regals became like family as they travelled the East Coast spreading the gospel and singing Southern Gospel music.
Surviving:
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joni Smith Phillips; children, Bradly James Phillips (Leann), Kerie Phillips Epton (Josh), and Jay Carol Phillips (Miranda) all of Woodruff; two brothers, Charlie Phillips (Sue) and Danny Phillips; and seven grandchildren, Dylan Phillips, Hallie Phillips, Ada Epton, Jackson Epton, Lena Epton, Ali Reese Phillips, and Truett Phillips all of Woodruff, S.C.
Funeral Services:
A Worship Gathering for friends and family will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Church at the Mill ? Woodruff, 517 Cross Anchor Road.
