Joan Aileen Lawing Smith, 79, former resident of Snow Street Place, died January 16, 2013 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

A native of Clifton, daughter of the late James Clyde and Nevada Felmet Lawing, she was a retired employee of Spinx Oil Company and a member of Praise Cathedral.

Surviving:

Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Kelley of Landrum; three sons, Randall Smith of Myrtle Beach, Jeffrey Smith of Melbourne, Florida and Kevin Smith of Naples, Florida; two sisters, Karen L. Swofford of Inman and Juanita Swofford of Saluda, N.C. and ten grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith was predeceased by one son, Steve Smith.

Funeral Services:

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Doug Campbell and Rev. David L. Swofford.

The family will receive friends after the service.
