On Thursday, November 22nd, our mother, Myrtle Green Odom, took her first steps in almost 16 years. It was only appropriate it was into the arms of our Savior. She fought a good fight, she finished the course, she kept the faith, and her victory is won.
Born December 6, 1919 in Greer, she was the daughter of John McCain and Lillie Mae Green.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, McNeil ?Mack? Odom, her sister, Hattie Carver, brothers, Bill and Melvin Green, Dan Owens and a grandson, Aaron McNeil Odom.
She was raised in the home of A.R. and Annie Owens, Greer, S.C.
She had been a resident of NHC, Greer for the past 16 years. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Neil Odom and wife, Brenda of Taylors, S.C., daughter, Rebecca Blackwell and husband, Dennis of Lyman, S.C. Grandchildren: Bryan and Traci Odom, Lisa and Jason Cox of Greer, S.C., Terry Kluge, Inman, S.C., Pam and Billy Varner, Michael Blackwell, Lyman, S.C. Great-grandchildren: Trey, Aaron and Connor Odom, Emma and Riley Cox of Greer and Haley Kluge of Inman, S.C. A surviving sister, Mildred Green Lister, two brothers, Larry Owens of Greer, S.C. and Douglas Owens of Baltimore, MD.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery, Greer, S.C.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Baptist Church.

The family will be at the home of Neil and Brenda Odom.
