Ruth Ellen Davis Thackston Snow, wife of William Gerald Snow, passed away on August 11, 2023.

Ruth was the daughter of John A. Davis and Allie Lee Harrison Davis and was the last surviving member of her family.

Ruth was a longtime member of Sharon United Methodist Church, where she often taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, as well as the ladies? group, served as President of the 50 Plus Club, and President of the United Methodist Women's Committee.

She gave her children the basic information for her obituary, but they want you to know who their mom was hardworking, kind, feisty, and so very funny.

Ruth was the life of the party and always ready for an adventure.

She and Gerald were high school sweethearts, who reconnected almost 30 years ago. They spent their time together traveling, laughing, and truly enjoying each other's company while making up for precious lost time.

Gerald was the most wonderful companion for Ruth, and he called her an amazing wife, person, and just a good woman. She loved being with her family and the endless laughter that always accompanied their times together.

One thing she knew how to do was have fun and bring humor to every situation she encountered.

Ruth will be forever loved and missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Surviving:

Ruth is also survived by her three children, Jerome Christopher Thackston, Ferris Craig Thackston, and Candace Michele Thackston Bolt (Jim); four grandchildren, Jonathan Thackston (Erin), Victoria Thackston Leonard (Jon), Sam Bolt, and Perry Frances Bolt; four great-grandchildren, Carter, Ava, Greyson, and Virginia Grace; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends who are like family.

Ruth was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, James, Sara, Maurice, Kenneth, Mildred, and George.

Funeral Services:

The family will have a private memorial service and will be at their respective homes.
