Thomas "Tom" Harold Burchfield, 79, husband of the late Mary Helen Sanchez Burchfield, passed away May 15, 2023.

A native of Beebe, Arkansas, Tom was raised in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Samuel Wilson and Frances Parker Burchfield, a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Korea with his brother, Ralph Burchfield, a retired employee of Sam's Club, and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Taylors, S.C.

Tom was a devoted family man, who cared for his wife of 57 years until her passing in March 2022. He was a big history buff, loved fishing, and was an avid football fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his five grandchildren.

Surviving:

Surviving are three daughters, Audrey Frank (Richard) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Jennifer Cauley (Glen) of Pensacola, Florida, and Laurie Snelgrove (David) of Greer, South Carolina; two brothers, Eddie O. Burchfield (Betty) of Duluth, Georgia and Jon P. Burchfield (Carol) of Dalton, Georgia; two sisters-in- law, Lou Burchfield of Chatsworth, Georgia and Lucille Burchfield of Dalton, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Katie, Rusty, Isabel, Betsy, and Renee.

He was also predeceased by two brothers, Samuel C. Burchfield and Ralph S. Burchfield.

Funeral Services:

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, May 18, 2023, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, conducted by Father Richard Tomlinson.

A reception will follow Funeral Mass, with committal to follow the reception, Thursday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer, South Carolina conducted by Deacon Nestor Acosta.

The family is at their respective homes.
