Tall Tales Tuesdays begins its summer schedule Tuesday at the Cannon Centre. Children and adults are invited to attend free.
Tall Tale Tuesdays begin its summer run at the Cannon Centre at 7 p.m. this week.
The free family event, every Tuesday from June 10 – July 15, features arts and crafts and guest speakers who will entertain children, and adults, with worldly stories, Fables, life experiences and folk tales.
“Tall Tale Tuesdays started as an idea to find unique art forms that are not done in Greenville,” said Robin Byouk, Greer Cultural Arts supervisor.
“The old fashioned art form of story telling gets children out from behind their electronic devices. Children and their parents sit and relax and get to use their imaginations. We hope to educate and create an artistic atmosphere for children of all ages.”
Jeff White, funeral director at Wood Mortuary, will share stories about his childhood and summer fun at Tuesday’s first event at the venue at 204 Cannon Street.
The remaining schedule:
June 17, Scott Ibbotson, Cultural Arts board member, Fables,
June 24, Don Axsom, graphic designer/illustrator, music and stories about Bumbly Brook Wolf,
July 1, Joada Hiatt, author, stories from around the world,
July 8, Jeff Lefko, children’s author, talks about his newly published book, “Solomon Squirrel’s Amazing Chanukah Adventure”.
July 15, Terri Pate, teacher, animal stories.
