Two Bojangles' are planned for Greer in 2014

Published on Monday, December 2, 2013

Two Bojangles’ are coming to Greer, with ground scheduled to be broken in January for the restaurant at Buncombe and Hammett Bridge Road. A second restaurant will follow at Hwy. 101 across from the BMW Manufacturing plant in Greer.

Allen Johnston, Co-owner and Operator of Chix and Bix, LLC, told GreerToday.com the restaurants would be the newest prototypes, similar to one opened at Cherrydale. They will be 3,608-square feet and seat about 80 guests.

“We will get through the holidays, move dirt in January and start getting going,” Johnston said. Johnston and his wife, Lee Ann, own several Bojangles’ stores in the greater Greer area and the Fuddruckers on Wade Hampton Blvd. The Greer Bojangles’ is a corporate store.

Glenn Pace, City of Greer Planning and Zoning Coordinator, told Johnston a traffic impact study may be required. The restaurant will face the Hot Spot convenience store on Buncombe Road.

City ordinance requires 1 space per three guests and one space per two employees.

The average investment reported for new locations is $1.7 million and each store creates an average of 25-35 jobs.
