The annual BMW ZFest will come through Greer Saturday as car owners and friends visit restaurants and shops. The event begins today and lasts through Labor Day.
Perry Williams encouraged the BMW sports car owners to visit Greer during the event three years ago. He was the leader in "follow the leader" to downtown and the occasion has grown since.
The Arvie Jr. Band, featuring Arvie Bennett, will play in downtown Greer Friday and Saturday night.
Friday the band will play at The Strip Club 104 at 104 E. Poinsett Street from 6-9 p.m.
Being the host for ESPN's College GameDay on Saturday means there will undoubtedly be a lot of tailgating going on before the 8 p.m. Georgia at Clemson kickoff. GameDay will be aired 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in Greenville , will host U.S. Pastry Chef of the Year Ben Shelton for a pastry demonstration and lecture to be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at its campus located at 78 Global Drive. The free event is open to current and prospective students of Culinard.
Shelton received first place honors and was named U.S. Pastry Chef of the Year at the 24th Annual U.S. Pastry Competition. Shelton’s winning creation, “Origins,” which consisted of three components: a chocolate oriented showpiece and blown sugar; an entremet comprised of chocolate, passion fruit, banana and hazelnut layers; and praline bonbons.
