Kids visiting Ryan’s on Thursday will get a new set of collectable cards, featuring the Smighties, Herotopia’s small, but mightiest heroes. The card packs will include special codes that may be redeemed for virtual prizes in the online game. Free Herotopia-inspired Valentine’s Day greeting cards may be downloaded on the company’s website.
The 10th annual Oyster Roast, Shrimp Boil and Pig Pickin' is scheduled Friday, Feb. 28, 6-9 p.m. at 3315 Brushy Creek Road.

A grocery store and strip mall is being planned for Riverside Crossing at Hammett Bridge Road and East Suber Road across from Riverside High School.
Developers for Gemini Real Estate told the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) Thursday an unnamed 45,000-square-foot grocery store and 10,000-square-foot strip mall is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2015.
Now we’re getting a clearer idea why all the fuss when IHOP will open at Suber Commons in the spring. IHOP has seasonal promotions that cater to big appetites.
But they are not alone. Herewith are some fast food promotions in January and February.
Wendy Watkins said she never saw the second business coming. She nervously put her energy into Plate 108 last February, a cooking and entertainment venue, on Poinsett Street.
Fast forward to February a year later and Watkins is opening a second niche food business in Greer – Krumms on the Plate at 3318 Brushy Creek Road. It is a bakery and catering business that is a spinoff on the successful Plate 108.
