Jorge Santos has been named the head boys soccer coach at Greer High School. Travis Perry, Greer Athletic Director, selected Santos, a 2010 graduate of Newberry College, from over 12 applicants.
“I think we made a great decision in hiring Jorge to coach at Greer,” Perry said. “He has the skills and techniques we were looking for to teach our boys soccer.”
Greer Athletic Director Travis Perry welcomed the reorganization that puts the Yellow Jackets into Region II-3A for the two years beginning with the 2012-2013 season.
Perry spoke with GreerToday.com following the Yellow Jackets final conditioning drill at the practice field today. “The reorganization is good for transportation,” Perry said. “The number one consideration was geographically. This is good for baseball, basketball and softball.”
Greer has been moved to Region II-3A for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. The South Carolina High School League advised schools of the realignment today.
Greer Athletic Director Travis anticipated the move to the mostly Greenville County schools. Greer will play in a region with Berea, Blue Ridge, Eastside, Greenville, Pickens, Southside and Travelers Rest.
