Stephanie Carlisle of Greer High School is a national winner at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
The senior won a Gold Key in Mixed Media for her 3-D photo “A World of Your Own Making”. She will be honored at an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 1.
The Greer High Virtual Enterprise program has done it again.
At the recent state competition the team earned first place in three events, second place in two events, and third place in one event. The team of Richard Handler, Jackson Tipton, and Dylan Long won first place in Salesmanship, Crystal Helton won in Advertisement, while Taylor Sanchez won in Website Design.

The Book Club at Greer High School meets the first Friday of each month during all three lunches in the media conference room. Students bring their lunches to eat during the meeting. Lemonade and desserts are provided as a treat.
At the first meeting, Feb. 1, each lunch group nominated books and then voted on one to read. "First lunch" book club chose Divergent, a dystopian novel, by Veronica Roth.
Motivational speaker Milton Creagh will speak at Greer High School Monday, March 18. He is the author of "Nobody Wants Your Child" and former host of PBS series "Parenting Works".
Creagh will speak 9-10:25 a.m. and 10:30 - 11:55 a.m.
Chandler Hash, a junior at Anderson College has been selected the South Atlantic Conference Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the year. Hash, a Greer native, played his high school basketball at Greer High School.
The award recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, service and leadership.
