The Greer High School cheerleaders held a fundraiser at the Clock Restaurant tonight. Varsity cheerleaders greeted customers arriving at the Clock on W. Poinsett Street with signs, smiles and buckets asking for donations.
The cheerleaders hold fundraisers to supplement their summer camps and events they participate in during the school year.
The Greer High School varsity cheerleaders are holding a fundraiser at the Clock restaurant Monday, 5-9 p.m. Cheerleaders will get a percentage of the evening’s sales and donations.
The Clock is at 603 West Poinsett Street.

Daniel Palka and Taylor Johnson, two former Greer High School players, were picked in the Major League Baseball Draft.
The Arizona Diamondbacks selected Palka in the third round and 88th pick overall. Furman outfielder Johnson, was picked by the Los Angeles Angels in the 31st round and was the 937th overall.
Bill Searcy wanted to make the timing of his son’s graduation gift memorable.
Graduation, Bill figured, was the perfect place and time to present Chandler Alexander Hughes Searcy, Greer Class of 2013, with his grandfather’s watch. Horace Searcy died seven years ago and the watch, a Timex, became a family heirloom.
Chelsea Michele Jones received a standing ovation from her peers during Greer High School’s 2013 Commencement.
It was expected and that’s why the Graduation Exercises paused for a short time at the Bi-Lo Center while Chelsea stood at center stage, diploma in hand, to acknowledge the moment with a smile. Chelsea gave a wave to her mother, who was recording the event on her phone, as she left the stage.
