A barbecue delivery fundraiser for Miss Greater Greer Anna Brown and Miss Greater Greer Teen Emma Kate Rhymer is taking order now through March 25. Delivery to schools and businesses, minimum 3 orders, is Friday March 27.
A plate is $7 and includes barbecue, beans, slaw, chips and a brownie.
The Virtual Enterprise team at Greer High School, the state’s winningest school in the competition, will not be going to the National Business Plan competition in New York City next month.
Ever Ready, of St. James High School, won the business plan competition at the South Carolina Trade Show in Myrtle Beach and advances to the national competition. Life’s PuriTEA of Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas, is also advancing.
Head basketball coach Jeff Neely is leaving Greer High School to become boys basketball coach at Christ Church in Greenville. He replaces R.J. Beach who will remain as athletic director.
Neely, 57, coached the Greer boys for 26 years, winning the Class AAA state championship in 2005 and advancing to the state finals in 1995, 2005 and 2009. He recorded more than 350 victories and 11 region championships.
Anna Brown, Miss Greater Greer, and Emma Kate Rhymer, Miss Greater Greer Teen, have selected their princesses for their reign during this pageant year.
Ella Jane Lee is the princess for Brown.
Greenville County public school students will make up their first missed school day on Monday, March 9 and will make up two more days on Monday, April 6 and Friday, June 5.
State law requires school districts to include three makeup days in their calendar and specifies that additional missed days must be made up by scheduling attendance days including Saturdays and/or extending school days.
Anna Brown, Miss Greater Greer 2015, won the Miss South Carolina lottery last weekend earning the No. 1 draw for placement selection.
Emma Kate Rhymer, Miss Greater Greer Teen, and Brown attended an intensive Miss South Carolina workshop weekend in Columbia. They also attended the Judges Seminar Dinner and participated in an autograph signing.
