Greer manufactured BMWs help pace group's record sales

A total of 1,020,211 vehicles were delivered to customers worldwide, an increase of 6.9 percent over the same period last year (954,501). There were 99,268 Greer produced vehicles delivered to worldwide customers in the first six months.

Sales in June also reached an all-time high: deliveries increased 4.8 percent with a total of 193,342 vehicles sold last month (previous year 184,489).

BMW announced last week a $1 billion investment into a manufacturing plant in Mexico.

Greer manufactured brands delivered in the first six months reported:

• BMW X3, 82,830 deliveries, up 6.3 percent (previous year 77,950),

• BMW X5, 13,097 deliveries, up 35.6 percent (previous year 9,661),

• BMW X6, 3,341 deliveries, up 18.4 percent (previous year 2,822).

Worldwide sales of BMW brand vehicles in June climbed 7.3 percent to total 164,214 units (previous year 153,075). Since the start of the year, 886,347 BMWs have been delivered to customers worldwide – an increase of 10.2 percent (previous year 804,227).
