Five singers will compete for $2,000 in prize money Friday as Greer Idol and Idol Teen end their seasons.

Encore will close out Tunes in the Park when it performs two sets Friday at 7 and 9 p.m. at the Greer City Park amphitheater.

Greer Idol will award $1,500 to one of three finalists – Felicia Owens, Michael Patterson or Megan Watts. Watts has cashed in before when she won Greer Idol Teen in 2012 and earned the $500 payday.

The Greer Idol field was finalized last week when Will Rawls was eliminated for the second time. Rawls was ousted in the first weeks of the competition but was invited back by the organizers when Walt Brown did not appear for his scheduled appearance the next week.

Zelena Hull and Roni Teems will be battling for Greer Idol Teen and the $500 first prize.

There were only 15 candidates competing – seven teens and eight adults – when the season started. It was the thinnest field ever in the nine-year Idol and five-year Teen competitions, respectively.

Friday’s schedule

6 p.m. – Greer Idol Teen Season 5 finals

7 p.m. – Encore first set

8 p.m. – Greer Idol Season 9 finals

9 p.m. –Encore second set

9:10 p.m. – Idol Teen and Idol champions announced.
