Riverside Middle School was one of a few schools in the state to score the highest possible rating on all three assessments. The school recognized the partnership with the strong home to school connection.
• Congratulations to Ms. Doraine Lee’s homeroom team won the 7th grade intramural championship for 2013. The tournament involves all 7th grade homerooms. Each team played at least 2 games during the tournament. Games are played before school each day. The next activity will be Hoops for Hunger, starting Dec. 2,
Riverside students Treavonnie Kyeasta Coleman-Blakely and Jaquisha Johnson were awarded “I am An Achiever” award.
Andrew Crowley, principal of Riverside presented the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from House of Representatives Congressman Trey Gowdy. The award is bestowed on students who are a role model and inspiration to others and have overcome difficult challenges.
The Fine Arts Center will hold its annual Middle School visitation day on Thursday, Nov. 21. This is a day when current eighth-graders interested in the arts are invited to spend a half day at The Center looking over their programs and meeting faculty and students.
The session is from 9:15 to 11:05 a.m. Transportation is not provided.
