RMS Volleyball Team will play against Greenville on Monday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m.at Greenville Middle School
Greer beat its neighbor, Riverside, 42-3, at Dooley Field Friday night with five players scoring offensive touchdowns, Quez Nesbitt going over the 200-yard rushing mark and the defense holding the visitors to 56 total yards.
Emanuel Kelly scored on a 65-yard pass play and Hakeem Hoke recovered a fumble in the end zone as the Yellow Jackets dominated the game in the second half to even its record to 1-1. Riverside is 0-2.

Greer lost at Seneca in its season-opening game last Friday. This week’s game is the home opener for the Yellow Jackets. Riverside Head Coach Phil Smith played and was an assistant coach at Greer.

“Our kids, they were devastated on the loss (Eastside 13-12), because it was so close. It’s a building process that we’re going through. Our kids are responding well. They're upset because they feel they've improved so much. To lose one like that is tough. You feel for the seniors. You feel for this whole team.
Riverside Warriors Roster
Riverside beat Greer, 14-10, in a jayvee football game at the Reservation Thursday evening. It was both teams' first jayvee games.
The Warriors scored its game-winning points with 20 seconds left in the game.
The Greer jayvee football team plays its first game at Riverside today at 6 p.m.
The times for next week’s Greer game is 6:30 p.m. and the remaining game times will be at 7 p.m.
Jason Gilmer, author of “Where Champions Play”, is the guest speaker at Thursday’s Greer Touchdown Club meeting at Greer First Baptist.
Gilmer is the former prep editor at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal where he redefined high school sports coverage for a decade in the Upstate. He won state and national awards for his writing and coordination of the high school preseason preview.
