Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested 18 year-old, Jessica Audra Lance for filing a false police report of a felony violation after discovering she made a phony complaint regarding four black males robbing the Dollar General.
Wednesday around 9:45 p.m., Jessica Audra Lance, who was working at the Dollar General, located at 3455 N. Hwy 14, in Greer, called dispatch stating that four black males had robbed the store and put a knife to her throat. Deputies arrived on scene and initiated and investigation into the complaint.
Earlier this afternoon, Lance notified investigators that she had made up the story.
Investigators learned that Lance had actually invited the males to the store so she could purchase beer for them. Once the subjects arrived, they stole multiple cases of beer and fled the store.
Lance, claiming she was fearful of retaliation from her job, made up the report, stating she had been robbed, according to Lt. Ryan Flood, Greenville County Sheriff Office spokesman.
Lance was taken to the Greenville County Detention Center where she awaits a bond hearing for her charge.
