Another robbery on Wade Hampton Blvd.

Criminals have found a niche working their craft on Wade Hampton Blvd.Thursday at approximately 5:30 p.m., Check-N-Go at 6140 Wade Hampton Blvd., was the scene of an armed robbery.

It’s the fourth holdup of a business, including two banks, on Wade Hampton Blvd. in 45 days. No arrests have been announced by Greer or Greenville law enforcement.

An unknown subject entered the Check-N-Go and displayed a firearm, according to Lt. Patrick Fortenberry of the Greer Police Department. The subject fled the scene on foot. “Our officers along with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office K9 team are attempting to search the surrounding area for the subject,” Fortenberry said.

The subject (see photo) was described as a black male wearing a black North Face jacket, black track pants that are tight at the ankles, with a medical type facemask (blue in color). The suspect wore a distinctive pair of shoes.

Other recent robberies on Wade Hampton Blvd. and dates include:

• Jan. 29, about 1:15 p.m., BB&T Bank, 3255 Wade Hampton Blvd. 

• Dec. 29, 2020, about 3:25 p.m., The Bank of Travelers Rest, 6000 Wade Hampton Blvd., in Taylors.

• Dec. 28, 7:27 p.m., Sub Station II, 801 Wade Hampton Blvd.

• Dec. 28, 7:48 p.m., Waffle House, 705 North Main Street.

All three crimes, Dec. 28-29 gave the same description of the suspect, wearing dark clothing and a blue bandana covering his face. The suspect also left all three crime scenes on foot.
