“We’re open Monday and taking new patients,” said Dr. Earl R. Butler, from Greer, who will be the physician of residence at 841 S. Buncombe Road.
The office is across the street from Greer Memorial Hospital.
“We did some demographic studies, as I’m sure the hospital (Greer Memorial) did and we saw a great location available,” Butler said. The office at Memorial Drive Extension has closed.
Butler said it was an expansion of sorts by adding Whittenberg two days a week. “By winter time I expect we will be busy enough to have a second physician all week.”
Sports physicals, mandated before children participate in school sports, are on going, Butler said. “We can also help manage asthma and diabetic conditions.”
X-rays will not be a service offered. “With Greer Memorial across the street we can send (patients) over there,” Butler said.
Services offered include well visits, first steps newborn support, onsite laboratory, immunizations, same-day sick appointments and treatment of illnesses and injuries.
A grand opening is scheduled Thursday, Aug. 14 from 6-8 p.m. with the entire staff attending.
