CPW offers incentives for residential builders installing gas hot water heaters
Residential builders that install gas hot water heaters separately or with a primary heating system to natural gas will receive incentives of $400 and $800, respectfully, from Greer Commission of Public Works.

The Greer utility introduced the incentive program that began Monday to promote the use of natural gas on CPW’s system.

The incentive packages and guidelines are available at Greer CPW or call Bruce Yerkes or Rob Rhodes at 864-848-5500.

• Commissioners did not act on the proposed ½ Ironman at Lake Robinson for October 2014 thus the request failed.

• Commissioners met in executive session to discuss guidance to pursue a location for a substation on the east side of Greer near the Inland Port. No decision was announced.

• CPW’s Finance Department was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report.

• The final meeting of the year is Monday, Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. Commissioners will vote on the 2014 budget and the public is invited to speak.
