Guy Furay outlined his campaign in seeking the vacancy for the Fourth District at the Cannon Centre in Greer Wednesday morning.

Furay said his campaign is focused on healthcare, immigration and gun control. Furay has spent 22 years in the insurance industry.

“It’s time to break this cycle that the two-party system has us trapped in,” Furay said. “We need leadership in Congress that puts ‘We, the People’ first, that listens to their constituents in order to find real, working solutions.”

Jim Rex, former South Carolina Secretary of Education and the co-founder of the American Party said, “It’s time for us to think as Americans, and not just as Republicans or Democrats.”

“I believe our system is broken,” Furay said. “It’s time we take back the U.S. government. It’s time it works for the people, not the parties.”

Trey Gowdy announced in January that he would not seek re-election for the Fourth District.
