Dana Jordan, 2011 Greer Idol winner, is negotiating a music contract with an Atlanta label. “I’m trying to wrap my head around it, it’s so surreal,” Jordan said.

“It is everything I’ve always wanted since I was a little girl,” Jordan said.  “They found me. We talked a week ago and they called last Sunday and told me that I needed to get my songs on a track, a bio and photo shoot within 48 hours. I went to Atlanta last Tuesday.

“I got my contract and have asked Mike Lowery to look at. I know him and trust him and Mike has my best interest at heart,” Jordan said.

Jordan sings with “Southern Pride”, a band from Gaffney. She passed on performing with them on Friday nights this summer to work with the Greer Idol and Teen contestants and volunteer with the Greer Cultural Arts.

Her agent, Perry Allen, met with her last week at Dan’s father’s house. “My dad told Perry, ‘She is ready and this has been her calling in my life.’”

Jordan said she was taken aback during contract talks about compensation. “I asked my agent, ‘let’s get to the part of how much I must pay you’. He said you don’t owe me a dime. We want to pay you.”

Jordan said the agent puts her chance at 8.5 out of 10 that she will sign.

“When he left my dad’s house I started crying knowing all that has transpired since I competed in Greer Idol. I was hoping it make it out of the first week, and then the second week and going into the final week I laid everything I had out there.”

Jordan said, upon agreeing and signing the contract, she will learn what opening acts she will be assigned and will go on an aggressive radio tour. “I told them that the first concern I ever do I want to do it in my hometown. I owe everything to the people in Greer.”
