A 5-month-old Greer infant has been identified as one of two children who died after a boat capsized and sank just feet from the dock on Lake Hartwell Sunday about 8:30 p.m. in the Townville area.

Dawn Thompson, 52, of Easley, who was operating the boat, has been charged with two counts of felony DUI with a water device resulting in death, according to police and Department of Natural Resources officials.

The infant has been identified as Timothy Dragoo. The other victim is identified as 9-year-old Christian Henderson, according to the Anderson County coroner’s office.

Henderson was airlifted to AnMed Health but was in cardiac arrest and declared dead at the hospital. Dragoo’s body was recovered after midnight Sunday near the end of a boat dock at the bottom of the water.

The boat went down between 100 and 200 feet from shore in about 20 feet of water, DNR officials said.

Thompson was denied bond by a judge Monday and will have to appear before a general sessions judge for bond. She is being held in the Anderson County Detention Center.

Seven adults and five children were on the 19-foot Hurricane deck (pontoon like) boat, according to investigators. Henderson reportedly was wearing a life vest and Dragoo was not.
