Taylor Lance, of Blue Ridge High School, signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play golf at Newberry College.

Lance has played on the golf team since the 7th grade and was selected All-Region in Class AAA five years. She helped Blue Ridge to a region and upper state championship and was selected all-state.

Lance tied for third at the Women's South Carolina Golf Association High School Invitational in September.

Wednesday's signing took place in the school library with her coach and family members present.

"I chose Newberry because I like the campus and they have a wonderful coaching staff," Lance said. She said her major will be sports management.
